programs & services
Autism Spectrum Disorder Services
Sunshine Village offers an innovative curriculum empowering young adults on the autism spectrum to engage in community life, build autonomy, and grow through supportive, multidisciplinary programs. Activities include book clubs, culinary arts, and financial literacy, supported by clinical services like speech and occupational therapy.
Life Engagement Services
We offer four MassHealth-funded day programs in Agawam, Chicopee, and Three Rivers for individuals 18 and older. These programs focus on building life skills, independence, and social abilities through personalized plans, supported by on-site nursing, master’s level clinicians, and access to therapy services.
Community Based Services
The CBDS career track supports individuals 18 and older with complex needs who seek job readiness while requiring additional services. Our program builds workforce skills like professionalism, teamwork, communication, and self-advocacy, often practiced in volunteer roles with local organizations. Each day balances skill-building with physical activities, arts, culture, and tech engagement, both on campus and within the community.
Employment Services (benefit for clients)
A chance to contribute, a sign of self-sufficiency, a sense of accomplishment—having a job is one of the most meaningful experiences for all of us. Sunshine Village’s Employment Service Division, including our commercial cleaning company, gives individuals 18 years and older opportunities to earn wages in a variety of settings and models. Partnering with businesses and organizations throughout the region, we provide on-the-job training and additional supports to help each individual continually develop their skills.

Meet Joyce, a DSP and PBS Ambassador at our Casey CBDS program, in Chicopee!
Joyce shares: “What I enjoy most about working at Sunshine Village is the opportunity to help the clients we serve. One of our initiatives, Positive Behavior Supports, focuses on helping our clients advocate for themselves. Also, I really enjoy the Be a Friend Project, where our clients design cards for young people who are bullied and send them across the U.S.- Sunshine Village is proud to be an Official Ambassador for the Be a Friend Project. Working here has had such an impact on my life-I feel pride in empowering individuals in their daily lives, whether here at the Village or in their personal life.”
